Default Job hunting sucks!

So I'm looking for a summer job, I'm so far into my overdraft now and my God the hunt for a job sucks sooo much!!!

I've had a trial day but heard nothing back yet, and handed my CV in to countless places but heard nothing!
I'm getting so frustrated now!
I've finished my degree, shall be entering a PGCE next year and have spent years in education only to find it difficult to get a single job in anything!

Feeling pretty miserable after todays hunt, the only thing I've got to look forward to is my degree results tommorow and a potential holiday - but even that isn't planned yet!
Hows everyone else finding a job/doing with job hunts?

Er... How long have you been looking?
I got a conditional job offer a few months after graduating and started in late December. At the start of this month my hours changed to full time. I'm very lucky.

Job hunting is a nightmare and its not going to be easy. Keep your eyes on the jobcentre job lists (online) and the local newspapers. Expect to not be hired and be glad you'll have something better to do next year.

I was speaking to my nephew just yesterday. He does a one day a week voluntary job in a secondary school library and pays his own expenses there and back and he has university grades in teaching, yet when he sends off CV`s offering to work for nothing, he doesn`t even get a reply, which I find damn ignorant of the people he is writing to. It`s so bad that even working for free these days gets you nowhere it seems. Now Cameron gets up on his soapbox and dictates that housing benefit will be taken away from the under 25`s, just to rub more salt into the wounds of the young. The man is a...well, I won`t say, but ayone who votes Tory in the years to come should be aware that if they find themselves jobless, they will be in the same position. Not just jobless, but homeless if he gets his way.

Best of luck to you student and keep your moral up. I can only suggest to pay off any debts and try not to get overdrawn. Easy to say I know, but not easy to practice.

Job hunting does suck, I've been job hunting for over four years and only been called back for one interview and then nothing. It doesn't help that I never finished high school, working on GED now, and I've had medical problems, migraines.

I've been trying to get a job dealing with animals mainly, but when I first started looking at 15 everyone either said you have to be 18 or 21 to work there. I'm 19 now and I'm giving up filling out applications online, they just don't look at them. Today I'm going to Petsmart to fill out an application in person, hopefully I'll hear something back from them, even if it is a rejection.

I've been looking for about 6 weeks, not ages but seems long enough when I'm on holidays and have nothing to do. I can't wait to begin next year so I'm back into a routine.
I've been working voluntarily at two different schools, to boost my experience. Its such a shame I can't get paid for them!
I hate getting no response - even a rejection via email would be fine by me, but hearing nothing is so rude and frustrating!
I'm never usually this much into the overdraft, but it's stacked up from first year.

Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong generation haha my parents owned their own home at my age, and paid their mortage a long time ago. There isn't really any hope of me owning a house, ever.

I spent a year looking for a job that had enough hours to pay my rent. No luck at all.

Good luck though

I know its frustrating but six weeks really isn't that long. Just try and find things to do to fill the time. I had the added problem of a serious injury when I was jobhunting so I couldn't even get outdoors to do much.
Find some local volunteer work? We did loads of that and it was really good

I'd recommend asking friends and family if they know if their work has any vacancies Or even if they have friends of friends that know vacancies, any connections is good.
My friend let me know the other day her work was looking for new people so i was straight up there with my CV haven't heard back yet, but all you can do is try!

it does suck, ive been looking for a job for 2 years and ive had literally no luck because of my grades, i had a weekend job for 3 weekends before they made me redundant, since then ive been having to do my sisters chores and stuff when she goes on holiday just so i can get a bit of cash in my back pocket. ive applied for endless jobs and ive never heard back from them for a interview, just keep looking something will pop up for you soon.

I hope you hear back from someone soon. I understand completely the annoyance of not hearing back from anyone, not even an email.

I just found out that Petsmart no longer does paper applications, it is all digital now. DX Robots are so taking over everything; they now control our job applications.
