Mystic, real talented people do not need classes and teachers to tell them how to utilize their creativity. Your friend is speaking out of jealousy, probably because your plot is good, she just wants to put you down and tell you it's bad. I'm sure your story is just fine and you don't need to go on a course and have other people tell you how and what to write.

I used to write creatively when I was young. I never saved anything I wrote. Time went by and other things in life kept me from writing. I even had written a book of my life and saved it on those old style computer disks which are obsolete now. Many people have told me I should write, but I have nothing I have written.
So, what I am saying don't lose touch with your desire to write and save your efforts. So many things in life will have to come first and if you have the skill, don't get distracted, and save what you write.

Mystic have you tried any of the online forums for feedback? You can upload bits of your work and then have peers critic it?

posting your story online on something like a forum means its public domain so you could never publish it really.
