Default Animal collecting is a disease!

Recently there was this in the news....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lanc ... 559281.stm

A woman keeping 271 animals in a small house - mostly toy dogs in cages stacked floor to ceiling!! Also cats, parrots, a rabbit and a chinchilla. 5 dogs had to be put to sleep, and the owner was found guilty of 9 charges of animal cruelty and jailed for 3 months. It was the largest amount of animals ever found in one case by the RSPCA.

Now today, I saw this on the 6 o'clock news!!!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/norfolk/4091706.stm

350 animals - 131 dogs, 48 cats, 80 rabbits and 86 guinea pigs. Are the animal collectors of Britain trying to go for some kind of record??!!!

It really makes the mind boggle. How do you get into that sort of state?

Default Norfolk

I hear they are having a really hard time in Norfolk with this huge influx of animals.

Did you see the report on the couple in the North of England who let their escaped hamster live behind the walls of their council house and breed to over 130 in number? The RSPCA are really stressed by all these incidents and has set up a donation line in response to the operations - 0870 7540346

Sometimes I think I have that problem, I’m an animal hoarder lol, I’m just kidding. I think its sad, these people love the animals and want to help them all, but in many cases these people cant even take care of themselves let alone a few pets.

I would love to have lots of pets, but I would only have as many as I could accommodate, afford and be able to easily clean up after. Here in the US we have some TV shows on a channel called animal planet (maybe you have it too) anyway these shows cover different city’s in different sates in the USA about the ASPCA that goes around helping animals and such. Allot of the episodes deals with pitbulls and Animals hoarders, where they literally need to dress up in these white space suits things and wear masks to keep from breathing ammonia in the air from urine ect and end up removing sometimes up to 100 animals and more. And many of them get put down because they have some kind of disease.
