Re: I need some hair help please?
That is really bad practice to tell a customer that they will have to fork out the same amount of money because they made the mistake? I`ve had some disagreements with Specsavers in the past rearding the glasses they made up for me and I ended up going back about six times until I finally ended up with a single pair of reading glasses that STILL are not right, yet I handed over £80 to have two pairs (reading & distance) lenses coated and only ended up with one pair after the glasses they gave me were all wrong. Yet everytime I had to go back in, I was met with a steely silence and an atmosphere you could cut with a knife. Needless to say, they won`t have my custom again.
CW, how about trying your local college hairdressing unit? They usually do all sorts of hair styles, colouring and extensions and charge half what a salon would. Might be worth looking into. I definately wouldn`t pay that kind of money to a salon these days because it`s money wasted if it all goes wrong. I passed a salon the other day and the cheapest `wash & cut` they did was £30! I`d rather place a bowl around my head and take the scissors to it!!!

Re: I need some hair help please?
So sorry to hear about your hair but I also agree you should go elsewhere with a picture of how you want your hair to look £63 is VERY expensive especially to pay again and she might not do it right again. my natural colour like yourself is brown and i have my hair very blonde at the moment and it only costs me £30...and thats for a full head of highlights and low lights of blonde so it looks natural...deffo look elsewhere if she wont fix it for free, someone else might be able to do it cheaper and quicker xxx

Re: I need some hair help please?
I know it sucks having to pay twice, but although I personally don't think the color is what I wanted at all, it's me who's changed my mind not the stylist who's made a mess of it . RH I used to go the college... until they made one side darker than the other through not concentrating so now I won't use them. Michelle89 wow £30 for a full color is really cheap!! Unfortunately I only live in a small place so I'm limited in where I can go to. The girl usually does a great job and knows how I like it , so why she thought I'd like this I don't know . I just want it changed back ASAP, yes it will cost a bit but I'd rather pay it than be stuck with a color I hate for a couple of months.

Re: I need some hair help please?
Just bring in a picture and make sure you have her do a couple shades lighter since blonde tends to fade pretty fast for darker hair, especially if you want to wait a few months before re-coloring

Re: I need some hair help please?
Maybe she'll give you a reduced price since it's already processed slightly Doesn't hurt to ask!

Re: I need some hair help please?
As gemmas mom said if you get a home dye kit sometimes the two dyes ahave whats called a chemical reaction which if you put it on your hair it will most likey either fall out or you will get a colour you really don't want.
when i did hairdressing you always aimed to make the client happy no matter how many times you would be doing it and i would just phone them up say you did like it under there light but when you got home under different lighting you weren't happy with it however she might have to scheldue you in a little bit later depending on the condition of your hair after colouring as they won't want you to get hair that when its washed and still wet feels like a gummy texture to it
But honestly the priority in a salon is happy customers and you should always get what you asked for

Re: I need some hair help please?
You could do it yourself if you wanted to like if there gonna make you pay but you will need to do a strand test first were you cut a tiny bit of hair off and put it in the peroxide in a plastic mixing bowl and leave it for a minute then if it starts bubbling or when you put your hand under the bowl and it heats up you can't use that dye
If you were near me i would offer to do it for you
The salon really should be saying that they will do it free of charge until your happy with it

Re: I need some hair help please?
Wow, sorry your hair didn't come out right. I personally don't mess with coloring my hair so I don't personally know what its like but I would go and ask for it to be lightened. Or look for another hairdresser.

Re: I need some hair help please?
I have used home due kits for years, old roughy say 8(semi perm for a few)
Blond, Red, black, ginger, platinum, blue, purple....
I have never had hair fall out from using a due, and when I had a problem I have dyed a few one after the other, I just recently gone from ivory blond to blue black.
I would talk to the students, they would do it for cheaper, and if wrong they can just try again as its for their studdying so it will be done. My friend often goes to them and comes back with her hair looking awesome, I am going to then for a cut soon.
I know salon dyes are powerful, and as said, you don't want to get a chemical reaction from the dyes mixing, I would go to salons more often... But the time I did for a bleach dye and cut... Was £178 so I won't go back unless it's for a cheep trim from a good price salon!
I hope it gets sorted hun x can't pay all that and put up with it all wrong! X

Re: I need some hair help please?
£63 is very expensive for something you don't like. I pay £32 for two colours. Mine is platinum blonde with dark brown tips. I love the electric blue colour but I think I'm too old. I've been to my hairdresser for forty years. I've been back once in all that time and then it was my own fault. She recoloured it for free.
