Default tablet computers

anyone know anything about them?? i thought it would be a good thing to get for our long flight to australia. i've been looking at ipads and android. i have been told that both have a lot of educational apps that are good for autistic children. i cannot afford a brand new ipad. and even on ebay second hand ones are going for well over £150. i have around £100 to spend on 1, i'd also like to be able to have the kindle app so i do not also need to buy a kindle for myself.

someone who knows about this kinda stuff please advise me. i know nothing and i feel like reading all about the different kinds

IMHO no tablet for £100 is worth having. I had a samsung galaxy tab and that is £300+ new and even that was not perfect so I would not use a cheaper android tab.

£100 is how much a screen costs the manufacturer like apple or samsung to put in one of their tablets, if you can get the whole tablet for less than that its made from poop parts

I love my iPad and it's so easy to use even my 3 year old can manage it.

I know some people don't like to use credit, but if you are not averse I bought mine from Argos on buy now nothing to pay for 6 months so I am putting away 1/6 of the price each month to pay it off when the 6 months expired. It was the only way I could afford it.

I agree that the cheaper tablets aren't worth having. My uncle really wanted an archos for Christmas which was about £100, but it's really naff... You can't get apps on it or anything. They r just good for surfing the web and that's it. I have an iPad and live it to bits. My other half has a galaxy tab and wishes he had an iPad! Definitely worth saving for

Actually I have a tablet and it was £165 and I'd say its better than an ipad (my friend has an I pad) its a compacitive screen just like an ipad but has a larger screen and also has all the ports you need including usb its a zenithink I can't remember the model number now there are cheaper ones the same make but they are ressistive screens which are no good...I'd totally recommend the zenithink ones iv never had a problem and mines is. An android so get all the aps just checked my model number its a zt280 c91 its deffo a good alternative to an ipad or other expensive tablets xxx
