My Boyfriend is upgrading his tank to a 3ft by 2 and a half foot
so he has this tank i might plan to keep for Pie-Ella if he allows me too
heres some pics of it do you think it would be big enough for her?

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
Nice marine set up!
I think being in a tank is great for hams, you can always make a level or two in there for extra levels

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
It might be ok.
Thats 3600 square cm of space. I'd go for more if you can though, 4000 square cm is regarded as a good minimum by most and I tend to have a personal preference for even more space where possible.

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
Ideally bigger would be better. If we get tanks we think we're just going to go for detolfs though, at only £40 and bigger than most tanks it seems the best option. I did see a few impressively cheap and huge tanks on ebay recently but they were nowhere near us unfortunately.

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
you could look on Gumtree, Preloved and eBay to see if anyone's got any 3ft tanks going (without the whole setup of course). that's how I got my 100 x 40cm tank for £60 delivered to my flat (although it was originally for my fish). you could also put an ad out on Gumtree saying you were looking for a tank of ___ size and what you are willing to pay, and definitely mention that you would be willing to look at tanks with cracks in the glass (obviously not shattered lol) or leaking tanks. who knows, you might even get one for free!

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
Thank you for all your replies
I had a look at that detolf from ikea but they won't deliver to me and i don't drive as the nearest ikea is holywood down in belfast.
I will place an ad on those sites and see if i can get anything although do any of you have any advice or recommendations for tank stacking as i know you can set two tanks on top of each other

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
Ah ok. We're in an area where detolfs are difficult too so I can completely sympathise with that.
I'm afraid I've got no advice on tank stacking as ventillation would be a nightmare for the lower one. I've thought about it a bit recently and utterly failed with ideas.
