Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
I think the tank would be better for a pair of gerbils only because it is so high and they could make extensive tunnels!

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
Sometimes I watch them but depends what sort of mood I am in tbh
And charley101 if it is suitable for gerbils it would give me an incentive to persuade the OH into getting some more

LOL I have a betta tank with shrimp in on my desk, next to my computer, so I often just look over and chat to the betta (and the shrimp if they decide to pop out and say hello) hahaha. glad I'm not the only one!

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
What is the height of the tank? You say its 60cm x 60cm? As you said its a cube i'm guessing 60cm? It looks taller to me though lol

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
If it is 60cm x 60cm x 60cm then that would make it a 49 gallon tall tank. The minimum for a pair of gerbils is 15 gallons but many consider 20 to be minimum. That would be plenty of space for a pair of gerbs If you do ever consider gerbils and it is your first time, i would stick with a pair and try and get males if you can. They are a lot more chilled than females. Also, the more gerbils you have, the more of a risk that they could declan in the future.
Let us know what you decide

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
Yep it's a 49.8 gallon tank. So nearly 50 gallons. Pretty good size!

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
I might even just move the two boys we have into it then give pie-ella the tank there in at the minute.

Re: My Boyfriend Is Upgrading
Oooh i didn't know you had gerbils! I expect i forgot if you mentioned it before. Sorry!
What size tank are they in at the mo? Sounds like a good idea cos then you wouldn't need to buy another tank for pie-ella
