Disappointed...
Well, the Savic Hamster Heaven I ordered arrived (2 days early!!!), but...
It's broken.
The corner is, anyway. But the thing is, I don't think it's really suitable for its purpose anymore, because even though the gap isn't that big, it's possible Cal could start chewing it and escape, which I'm not chancing.
It said it's condition was 'Used - Like New', so I don't know what's going on? Problems with transit seems likely.
Anyway, I'm probably going to have to send it back. It's disappointing, but meh. I hope I get a refund, especially seeing as it was from the Amazon Warehouse.
The corner is still there, so I could always use PVA glue to put it back on, but for the money I spent on it, I really wasn't expecting this.
Also, some of the items are missing (e.g. the sputnik, one of the nails to hold one of the platforms on, instructions...)
To be honest, I'm quite disappointed. I'm planning on reporting it and sending it back, and then using the refund (which I hope I get) to buy one new, because at least then I'll know it's supposed to come as it's advertised.
That, or I'll ask them for a new base, which was my mum's suggestion.

Re: Disappointed...
you will most likely get a new base from them be be very wary of sending it back as a mate of mine bought a phone on ebay that was unsuitable they said to send it back and they would refund the money and she never got any money back i know amazon is supose to be more secure but id say just be carefully and if you send it back do so through recorded delivery

Re: Disappointed...
I`ve heard that Amazon can be dodgy with their cage packing, although I know someone on another forum who bought a Zoozone 2 from them just last week and it arrived perfect. I would return the whole cage for either a full refund or a replacement. A broken cage, especially one that has a corner snapped off could allow a hamster to get out. Contact Amazon right away with your issues. If it was bought as `used` then it may not have the full protection a `new` cage will, but contact them anyway and find out.

Re: Disappointed...
Thanks Vicki S, I certainly will!
And I'm planning on contacting them right after dinner, racinghamster! The packaging did look rather bare - it was merely 4 polyester (?) squares holding it up. I'm definitely going to mention that!

Re: Disappointed...
They should replace it or refund you partially. The courier is insured and a broken corner is not used like new!

Re: Disappointed...
I think there's a problem in the manufacture of the HH. There's a few people here, including myself who have a broken corner. Mine was missing a house. I wasn't that bothered as I didn't want it anyway. I've always found Amazon to be excellent on returns. Not like Petsathome online who can' be bothered to even acknowledge your emails.

Re: Disappointed...
I think HH have weak spots in the corners, as when I once orders one it came with 3 broken corners. It was back when they were £90 as well, but the company were lovely and said if I wanted to keep it I could have it for £40. They also said they were stopping selling them as too many arrived with broken corners.
Regarding Amazon, IMO their returns is fantastic. I bought a shredder off them a week ago, it was too small for the use I needed it for, said it would take 5 sheets but only took 1 and jammed up constantly. I contacted them using the 'how do you want to be contacted' page on 'returns and refunds' part of the site, got a call instantly, explained why I wasn't happy with it and they asked if I wanted a replacement or refund. I said refund so they told me they'd email me a label to stick on it and just take it to the post office. The label is freepost so it costs you nothing to send back, and 3 days later I got an email saying they had received it and we're processing a refund. Got my refund 20 mins later.

Re: Disappointed...
Luna's HH has a broken corner. She's been in it since we got her (5 weeks, she's now almost 17months) and she's never been able to get to the corner to chew it. I made sure that the green shelf covered the corner. Does restrict it a bit as I can't not use the green shelf but at the time I didn't have much choice as the cage came two days before we had to pick Luna up. But then it's the new style... I bought Luna's new from ZooPlus btw.
I did get a £35 refund (or there abouts) though
Is it the new style HH with two shelves? If so, they don't come with sputniks.
Also, you don't get instructions with them. Not hard to put together at all though
