I don't think there's anyone on HC who doesn't adore their hams and give them the best life and care possible
But yeah I meant the people who literally buy a ham,say "awww he/she's cute" and thn the poor thing never gets out of their cage again I don't know you too well (or anyone else fr that matter lol) but I can see very clearly you spoil your hams and always put them first
I,like you wouldn't force one of my hams out of they really wasn't in the mood xx

Yeah it makes more sense now
We've just got an odd selection who prefer their cages for various reasons - despite being fully tame in most cases lol

Also you have to remember that some of us have rescue/adopted hamsters who might have had bad experiences spending time outside of their cages, and even though now they have more caring owners they are still reluctant to leave their comfort zones...i.e being chased by a dog/cat, getting stuck somewhere, getting stood on, etc. Hamsters on the whole have good memories and they do remember these bad experiences, becoming anxious when put in the same situation, even if it's a different owner/house, etc. Some are just more suited for interaction with their owners within the walls of their cage.
