They cost $30,000. They are properly interactive so that autistic children can gain the experience of having social interactions without a human being present. Pretty amazing stuff.
There is a simpler version available upward of £25, called My Keepon, it just responds to beats, and touch.
I may buy one "for" my OH's birthday.......
ETA: bought - we've been in love with this for years, it seems like a good investment. Haha.

I actually volenteer for a group that does activities for children with special needs...and we have several youngsters with autism. I'm gonna see if any of the mum's have heard of it....maybe if wa raise enough money in our future events we can look in to getting one.x

Um....coughs....iv just bought one from Amazon.co.uk. £26 so not cheap...but just too cute to pass up. Iv been spending on the hams today, so now iv got one thing or me...going through a weak moment rite now.
It's going to look so cute on my shelf or computer desk.

Wait, just looked at Toys R Us and it only costs $15. I think someone must have misplaced a decimal point, or a comma, or a zero.
Keepon is a more advanced robot - that is fully interactive with humans (hence costing $30,000). "My Keepon" is a far more consumer-friendly toy (costing £30) One that I've already purchased and will hopefully meet this weekend.
