Re: Anyone on here play Wizard101?
Wizard 101 is great fun. The graphics aren't beyond what today's average laptop can handle. At least my wimpy dell hd graphics card can handle them, and that is an integrated graphics card from the factory.
The premise of the game is this: Your the newest student to the school of Ravenwood; A school of witchcraft and sorcery located in the world of Wizard City. Your being introduced to it by its headmaster, Headmaster Ambrose, when a man by the name of Malistare comes along and causes trouble all over Wizard City. Your job henceafter is to find out what he is up to and why he is causing trouble all over the Spiral, the universe in which the game is set.
Its is reminiscent of Harry Potter, but with a World of Warcraft type vibe to it. You can buy mounts to move faster and thus aide in questing, you can have a pet who, if you level it up enough, can help you in battle or enter in the Pet Derby to win fabulous prizes, and you can also garden for things called reagents to make items to help you in the game. There is even a dueling arena to battle other players within, which is called PvPing.
Best of all, there is a free trial, you can essentially play up to level 10 or so and access almost all of the first world, for new potential members so you can see if its something you like. Then after that, if your interested in playing it further, you can either buy a membership, or buy crowns and use them to access other worlds and areas of the game. You can also use crowns to buy exclusive gear, pets, mounts, and other items not available anywhere else in the game.
New worlds and game modifications are always being made so there is always something new to do in the game. I find it well worth the investment of buying a membership and playing.
