With RE, I'd recommend considering taking Philosophy instead. I took a Philosophy AS Level and it had a fair bit in it about religion, but it also taught me to discuss different view points, which is quite useful. It really made my brain work and think hard
What else did I do? Graphics, Fine Art, Photography, Psychology, Fashion & Textiles.. all lots of fun and what I wanted to work in eventually, although things change a lot over the years
I took so many classes I had to teach myself one, and due to personal problems, only finished a few, but I had a good chunk of each one
.
I've done Biology at a higher level now, given I'm doing a degree in it, I guess. It's fantastic. I did the equivalent of an A Level in 8 months for my foundation year, and I found it intensive, but pretty straightforward. If you might want to head down the science route in the future, I'd consider Chemistry (another one I did in my foundation year). It's amazingly interesting, very difficult (life would be boring if it was easy
), and gives you a good grounding in using maths for practical purposes too. I hated it in my F-year, but I miss it now. It gives you a great grounding to build on with Biological principals.
Ultimately, if you do stuff that you enjoy, you will do well, but if you have an idea what you want to do in the future and can tailor it that way, all the better
. Don't take a choice because it's easy - took me a long time to realise it, but there is no satisfaction in doing well in something if you haven't tried
