any ebayers here?
First off, hope everyone here had a great Xmas and gotten what you wanted .
Now, if this isn't in the right place I appologize, please feel free to move it! Has anyone here ever bought from Ebay US? If so, is there anyway around a seller who wont post out internationally? I want an item off of there, but the seller won't ship it to the UK, they have told me the only way is to get someone in the US to send it on to me. I have looked at the parcel forwarding companies, but they cost a fortune. The item I want is only $10 and they're giving me quotes for £40-100!! Does anyone know any other way around this? Many thanks if you have any suggestions!

Re: any ebayers here?
I don't think there is a way round it. Sellers have the right to choose not to send to a certain country, and many (like me) choose not to ship abroad because they have had bad experiences in the past (it's very hard to accurately track parcels sent internationally and therefore hard to prove otherwise if an unscrupulous buyer claims not to have receievd their item). Sorry

Re: any ebayers here?
is the item large or heavy? I'm in the US and I wanted to buy a cage from a UK seller, he offered to sell it to me, but it would have cost more than the cage so I decided against it.

Re: any ebayers here?
MzWiz, not it is not heavy, it is actually a small (roughly 14" long) plush dog! I am after it because it is made by the 'Douglas' toy range, which I've been collecting( I collect plush dogs of different makes), and I can't find this particular one in any online store as is a discontinued model. This is why it isn't worth using a parcel forwarding store, as they would charge too much to send it. Having had others of these dogs before, it should only be about $10-15(maybe less) to ship, not the $60+ the companies are charging!!

Re: any ebayers here?
I don't know of any way around the problem of them not posting internationally. I recently bought budgie and cockatiel toys from ebay seller in the US and luckily they posted me them direct. It was funny as one of the toys cost £3.00 and £4.00 in postage.
