Default Tomorrows New Arrivals

if everything goes to plan, 2 new rescues will be joining my clan tomorow. sorry for the pic quality i will get better when they arive

this incredibly obese bunny

with her skinny little friend

and THIS is what they have been kept in for their entire lives

they are both around 1, and as soon as they arrive they will be split and both started on separate diets, 1 to loose weight, the other to gain!!
when they are in better condition, i will bond them both to new (same species) friends

Omhygod poor things! I know you will give them a great life though, I really hope they improve!
Cheekycheeks, you can't keep buns and guineas together for alot of reasons... will let someone else explain as I don't know as much as others

Well done you for rescuing them.

rabbits and guinea pigs should never be kept together im afraid, it was comman practice many many years ago, before we were able to regularly neuter animals to provide hormonal animals with same species company, but now a days we know the risks, and they far out weigh any benifit

rabbits naturally carry the bordatella bacteria, which causes no harm to them, but if a piggy comes into contact with it, it will kill them

rabbits commonly mount each other as part of their dominance ritural, if a rabbit were to mount a pig, it can break their backs and/or crush their pelvis

rabbit food does not have enough vitamins for piggys, and has lots of things added which are bad for piggies, and if fed for any amount of time, WILL kill them, rabbits should also get only an egg cup full of pellets a day

guinea pig food is much too rich for rabbits, and if fed long term can reduce their natural life span, and causes all sorts of dietary problems, guinea pigs should also be free fed

happy rabbits run and jump and kick out in what is called a binky, an accidental kick from a small rabbit is enought to break dog bones, they can easily kill a pigger without meaning too

they both have very different social needs, and there is absolutely no benefit to keeping the 2 together, pigs are very vocal, and communicate via voice, rabbits mainly communicate via body language

well they are here!
and i am VERY shocked to say, but bunny is BRC rung, although the ring is too tight to remove by hand, but not tight enough to cut off blood

might just be able to track her DOB and such
