Default ANIMAL ROADSHOW ON ITV UK TERRESTRIAL TV CHANNEL

ANIMAL ROADSHOW ITV

Problems with the parakeet?

Rabbit running you ragged?

Or maybe your spaniel saved your life?

Badly-behaved bulldogs, mixed-up moggies, hopeless hamsters, mangy mutts in need of a grooming makeover - help is at hand! ITV’s Animal Roadshow is coming to town featuring every kind of animal imaginable, from the domestic to the wild, the most talented to the weirdest and the oldest to the worst behaved.

In a different location each week during April Animal Roadshow invites the public to bring along their four legged (and two-legged and six-legged) friends and to talk to its team of regular animal experts which include behaviourists, a vet, animal psychics and a celebrity groomer. All Dr Dolittles in different shapes and sizes.

They might have a specific problem they want help with, an animal talent they desperately want the nation to see, or a heroic or funny story to tell. Each week there will also be a guest expert – e.g. an animal healer who claims to communicate directly with her patients via her healing hands, or a star animal trainer who can help mould your pet for the movies.

Talented animals will be put through their paces for Pet Idol or the doggy Assault Course, while Star line-ups will invite viewers to guess which pet belongs to which celebrity owner. Animal Brats will have their behavioural problems challenged and hopefully cured, mangy mutts will be offered a makeover to satisfy the most fashion conscious of owners, and psychic pets will have their powers put to the test.

Where the pets can’t come to the roadshow the roadshow will go to the pet, to cover topical issues and feature animals that cannot be brought to the venue. These reports might cover poisonous pets, quarantine issues, chipping, animals in movies, working animals, destructive or dangerous animals and reconstructions of stirring tales of animal heroism. We will also follow up animals with behavioural problems as their owners put into practice the experts’ advice.

Whatever the story of amazing pets or animals in need of professional help, Animal Roadshow wants to hear about it now. Members of the public with animal tales to tell should call 0208 846 2072

Press contact: Bridget Sneyd/Jamie Langton at Lion TV 020 8846 2000

The Roadshow will be on the road throughout April 2005 and airing on ITV in June.
