When you have had some time to grieve, perhaps you will find room in your heart for another furry friend. I have two winter whites on order from the local garden centre (the only "pet shop" we have on this remote Scottish island) but have to wait until mid-February. It seems like a very long time!

I'm glad you have such wonderful memories of your time with her.

Thanks, Petite. I'm so sorry for your own loss as well. How nice that you have the Winter Whites coming; it seems once a home has had a hamster, it becomes very empty when they're gone! May they bring you joy once you get them. And for my own part, I'm taking some time, but I can imagine bringing a new little home to start a new chapter. They do indeed capture your heart...

Hi. I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of little Chiclet. The two of you joined the site just before Theodore and I did so I feel we're at the same stage. Like you, he's the first hamster I've ever had and the first pet I've had in decades. I guess that we can only do our best and give them all proper care we can and nature will take its course. Theodore makes me laugh every day as he's a little ball of attitude and silliness and I look forward to him popping out each night to say Hi and grab a treat. I'm sure it will be a little lonely for you for awhile. Run free little Chiclet .. you'' be missed.

Interestingly, I was pondering hamster names (yes, I’m thinking of getting another; I really miss coming home each day to a sweet furball) and Theodore was one of them. Don’t know yet if I’ll be getting a boy or girl.... Amazing what joy a tiny creature can bring to us!

No worries, i remembered your name and seeing your posts. Yes I have Star now, on her last legs bless her, but we think she is about 2.and a half years old now. Take care of yourself.
