Default Farewell Veikko

Veikko1.jpg

Only 6 days after we said goodbye to Feliks we made the painful decision to have Veikko pts. He'd been struggling with diarrhoea since the middle of December and despite all sorts of medication and involvement from the exotics department at the vet school he wasn't getting better. He was just wasting away and he looked very sad. He had been due to go for a scan but he was so weak that we didn't even know if he would make it. The consensus at this point, after a further sample showed no evidence of bacteria or parasites, was that it was likely some internal problem. We tried so hard to get him well. I hate having to make the decision to have them pts, especially as we'd just gone through that with Feliks the weekend before.

Veikko, we loved you the minute we set eyes on you at the SSPCA, with your beautiful sleepy face. You were always so big and strong with your pushy nose when you'd had enough pancaking on my hand. You were always quite nosey and you'd jump on top of your hammock to observe what was going on. At the end though there was barely anything left of you, you were so weak and tired. I'm sorry we couldn't make you all better. I really wish we could have. I hope you're well again now and that you're sitting on your hammock at the bridge keeping one eye on me and the other on your brothers and Delphia. Love you to the moon and back Veikko xx

Lovely tribute to Veikko. A really tough time losing both of them so close together. I think they are together over the rainbow bridge, with a shared love of you xxx

This really has been such a hard time for you, it's so sad that you had to say goodbye to Veikko so soon after Feliks,
Veikko was such a brave little guy, he fought so long & hard & stayed with you as long as he could, I have no doubt he knew how much he was loved & how hard you tried to help him.
A lovely tribute to a very special little man.
Hugs to you & Hamdad.

Run free & play well at the bridge with your brothers Veikko.

Oh BP, not another loss so soon after Feliks. Veikko's montage of photos shows a wonderful range of expression. Very special indeed, your little man. It is so sad when illness takes a little one after all the veterinary efforts have failed. But you did wonders with him and gave him a loving home.
Restored to full health now Veikko, have a great time playing over the bridge. You will be missed very much indeed.

I must apologise for not seeing this memorial for Veikko sooner, I have been avoiding the memorials section as I get upset whenever a hammies goes to the rainbow bridge.
Veikko had a wonderful life with you, I aways remember when you adopted him and Delphia and introduced us. Veikko oozed gorgeousness and the tribute of pics are wonderful.
Sending you big hugs and thinking of you xxxx
