Red face Rest in Peace, Hamper Sleepyhead Aurora

Rest in peace, Hamper Sleepyhead Aurora
Died on Wednesday, February 27th

My wonderful fluffy boy passed in his sleep last night. I am heartbroken, crying as I write this. What's funny is he outlived his own genetic son by a week, but possibly because I prayed that he would live a long, happy life on Earth. Last night, I prayed that if he was still here, he would live a little longer for me, and that if he was already playing at the Bridge, that he would make a thousand friends, meet his son Krados and his aunt Phoebe, and live a happy afterlife before I came to cross the bridge with him.

Hamper, if you are reading this, just remember that I'm glad you passed in way you did, peacefully sleeping, and not in stress or pain, and don't forget, I'm loving you and missing you.

'Don't Forget' by Toby Fox ft. Laura
From DELTARUNE soundtrack

"When the light is running low"
"And the shadows start to grow"
"And the places that you know..."
"...seem like fantasies"
(Small pause)
"There's a light inside your Soul"
"That's still shining in the cold"
"With the truth..."
"The promise in our hearts..."
"Don't forget,"
"I'm with you in the dark..."

Mother of the world's smartest Syrian, Hamper! Well, maybe not the world's smartest but he's the smartest hamster I've ever seen! I'm also the aunt of the deadly vampire Ruby! He's not actually deadly or vampiric but we like to pretend

Thank you Soufflé.

I made a little Art of Hamper running about at the bridge on Pixilart!

I am so sorry. He must have been so special to you after 3 years - and a grand age. The drawing is beautiful - I love it. It's a big loss - but it was his time and he passed peacefully at home without a long period of illness or suffering and that's a blessing. It can help when you've had a little burial or memorial service, to say goodbye. You still miss them but it helps with accepting they have gone to the rainbow bridge. He was lucky to be so loved. Xxx

I wanted to give him a proper burial, but I haven't told my dad about it yet. After all, no hamster should be buried in the cold.

Some people bury them in a large plant pot and plant flowers in it, if you don't have a garden. If he is still at home with you, then best to use a little cardboard box of some kind with tissue paper in and wrap him in tissue and put him in the box as a nice little resting place - he should be fine for another day like that. But speak to your Dad tonight and see if you can organise a little burial spot tomorrow.

I buried our last Syrian about this time of year 2 years ago and it was thick snow outside. I couldn't do it the same day, but by the next day we had adjusted to the idea that he had already gone, and we were just burying his body and made it special and planted flowers over it, even in the cold - we cleared the snow. Then the live on in the flowers and have returned to nature. As he had already gone to the rainbow bridge. So you may feel ready to do it by tomorrow. If a burial doesn't feel right you can ring a local vet or pet cremation service and take him there tomorrow xxx

I was thinking about putting him in a shoe box with his favorite bedding and toys, and bury him next to Phoebe, similar to how a YouTuber I used to watch did.

Also, why are some of my words turning into working links?

That sounds really nice. I can't see any word links on the forum - maybe it's a phone thing.
