Goodbye Elfie. <3

My little dwarf, Elfie, died the other night at 2 years and 5 months old. She is my first loss, I have had her since November 2016. I got her alongside my male Syrian (now 2 years and 10 months old) to help me cope with my fertility issues. I needed something to love and take care of, so I got my two hamsters, never did I think they'd take up such a huge place in my heart. Elfie stuck around for so long that she saw me through my eventual first pregnancy, the first year and a half of my daughters life, and 28 weeks through my second pregnancy.

Rather than being sad about her being gone, I'm happy that she lived such a long and happy life with me, and I'm so thankful that I found her, because she helped me through such a hard period in my life. I made this picture to stick on the fridge in remembrance of her. <3

What a beauty! It is amazing how although they are only little, hams can become such a huge part of our lives. You were lucky to have Elfie so long as she was to have you. Play well at the bridge little one x

So sorry to hear about Elfie. What a beautiful little hamster, I think that is a wonderful little memorial that you've made for her.

I'm so sorry for your loss, what a beautiful & special little heart ham Elfie she was, so sad that she has gone to the bridge now but so many special memories to cherish forever.

I'm so sorry that your beloved heart-ham Elfie has passed to the bridge. She was so beautiful and gave you so much love and comfort and the two of you were so lucky to have one another. I'm so glad that she had such a long and wonderful life with you. I'm glad that she was able to meet your daughters. Best of wishes on your 2nd pregnancy as well. Huge hugs to you.

Such sad news about Elfie, what a little beauty and a grand age. For something so small, they give so much love and happiness and it's never easy when they go to the rainbow bridge. Big hugs xxx
