My angel Luna
My little Luna and her baby Pip came into our lives in October 2018, just over three months ago, from a rescue sanctuary. I loved them before I even met them.
Luna passed away in my arms yesterday on Valentine's Day, aged one year. I don't know the reason why as she had shown no outward signs of illness.
She lived life at 100 miles per hour and every waking moment was spent running at great speed in her wheel, pouching and nomming her food, climbing, exploring and being hyper active!
She was sweet natured, intelligent and gorgeous. I did not expect to have her taken from me so soon.
I miss my cheeky little cuddlemonster so much. I'm feeling very down and lost at the moment. Things aren't the same without my Luna.

Re: My angel Luna
What a beautiful girl Luna was, it's so sad that she has gone to the bridge so soon & you couldn't have more time with your precious girl, take comfort in knowing that the time she had was full of love & you gave her the best life you could.
It's always very hard to lose a ham but to lose one so young is even more so, my heart goes out to you at this difficult time.
I hope Pip is a comfort to you & in a way Luna will live on through Pip.
Run free & play well at the bridge Luna.

Re: My angel Luna
Thank you so much everyone, such kind and supportive words. x
cypher, yes it does seem especially unfair when they are so young. Yes, I'm lucky to have darling little Pip, now that it's just her she has enough toys for about 12 hamsters as I had bought them so much! Plus still kept lots of things that had belonged to Tilly, my Syrian who passed away around five years ago.
I keep going in the other room and looking at her sweet little face and upsetting myself. But I just need these few days to grieve.
I've arranged for my dad to come and collect her little body on Sunday and they will lay her to rest in their garden with Tilly, plus numerous other angels who have gone to the bridge over the years, so she won't be alone.

Re: My angel Luna
That's lovely that she will have a final resting place with all the other little angels that have gone before, it's always a comfort to give them somewhere special.

Re: My angel Luna
Thank you cypher, yes it just didn't seem right that she'd be all on her own in our garden.
I've prepared her for her journey to Rainbow Bridge and have now been brave enough to place the portion of food that she never got to eat into the little purple bag so she can take it with her. I couldn't bear to keep going in the room and seeing the food still there on her little bendy bridge.
I will face sorting out her cage another day.

Re: My angel Luna
That looks just perfect for her Bright_moon, I'm sure she would appreciate the love & care you've taken for her final resting place.

Re: My angel Luna
So sorry for your loss of Luna. I think that's wonderful that you're laying her to rest with other little ones who have gone before her. You've definitely taken good care of her.
