Re: Goodbye Treacle!
This is such a shock SKB, my heart goes out to you, Treacle was a little ray of sunshine, she blossomed so much in her short time with you and she melted my heart, you gave her so much love, care and confidence and her cheeky, mischievous, character shone brightly.
I will miss Treacle as she brought me so much happiness and laughter.
Big Hugs to you at this sad time xxx

Re: Goodbye Treacle!
Thank you Rads, mzwiwy, soufflé, cypher, mangoandmimi, Coco61, Charlie Dunn, Josie, Serendipity7000, Thin Lizzy and pinkpixie for your heartfelt message and condolences - they really meant a lot and I cried reading every single one of them. I am still finding it very difficult to adjust not having Treacle, my bedroom is so quite now as she was quite vocal and I could always tell when she was happily exploring her cage with her chirps. Yesterday I buried Treacle in my garden beside Maple - with her favourite treats, it was difficult saying the final goodbye but reassured she is accompanied by all my other hamster who have gone before. Treacle was truly so special to me and I feel privilege to have been able to offer her a loving home until her departure to the bridge. I am grateful to have shared 4 months with her - as when I adopted her I didn't know that I was even going to get a month with her age being so uncertain.
I cleaned her cage yesterday evening which was very difficult due to being able to smell her plus feeling bad about messing her cage up, although it has helped me to start the grieving process. As I always find that cleaning their cage brings back fond memories which I will forever cherish along with so many photo which truly captured her humongous personality!

Re: Goodbye Treacle!
It is a difficult time with mixed emotions when you bury them but I'm sure it gave you some peace & comfort to know that Treacle is now with your other girls with her favourite things.
Cleaning the cage & getting used to the change in routine is always very hard but it is a time to cherish all the wonderful memories she has left you with too, I'm glad you have Liquorice to help you through this time SKB.

Treacle's burial sounds perfect along with her favourite treats. The tears are flowing with reading your post, she was a little ray of sunshine and gorgeousness. I will so miss her cheeky, mischievous, beautiful face. Your emotions end up all over the place, you have so many beautiful pics of your little girl and many memories. You gave her so much love in the short time you had together. Big Hugs xxx

Thank you cypher, flowerfairy, BorisPasha, RJS, HamsterCare and Thin Lizzy for your messages. I feel privilege to have spent every second I got with Treacle. I will be sorting through the photos I took of her to get some printed to hang on my bedroom wall beside my other girls.
