Oh no, Thin Lizzy; I'm so utterly devastated that your precious and gentle, dazzling white prince had passed to the Bridge! I had a huge lump in my throat and my tears instantly started to flow when I glanced at the new threads on HC this morning and saw MH's memorial page listed there. I know how heartbreaking it is to have to make such a decision, but you made the most loving choice for him so he would know longer be suffering even though you will miss him beyond words. You helped him embark on his last great adventure just as you have always done throughout his long and wonderful life with you. I am sure that Master Harvey appreciated all that you have done. My heart is breaking for you and your beloved heart-ham. He struck gold when he got you for his devoted, loving Mum and you found a treasured jewel when you chose him. Master Harvey will live on in your heart and all of your precious memories; he will certainly live on in all of our hearts as well because we love your charming prince, too. He was truly special and is unforgettable; the loving bond that the two of you shared always touched my heart so deeply and made me smile. Thank you for sharing his amazing life with all of us through his magnificent and always entertaining thread on HC. His hobbit appetite with multiple breakfasts, his enthusiastic hamnastics training, and his ritual of climbing on you and giving you infinite whisker kisses and cuddles always made me laugh and brightened my day. His creation of the EHO was brilliant and so much fun for all of our hammies and us. Eros was so blessed to be a part of such a talented and fun-loving group of ham musicians and will always keep all of the members of the ham-gang together in her heart. I am smiling just thinking of the Hamousine, the Hamborghini, the express jet, the Air Meals all of them experienced together during this great adventure that you and your white beauty created. Amazing bonds among all of our hamsters and us were created there that will last our lifetime. There are many beloved members already present at the Bridge, and I'm certain that they gave their treasured friend Master Harvey the grand welcome with music playing and Sir Mocho Rattle conducting. I know Eros had been playing her music extra enthusiastically and loudly the past few nights, too. I'm sure she wanted to be sure that Master Harvey felt her love at the Bridge, too. Thin Lizzy, my heart goes out to you and I am sending you lots of love and HUGE hugs. Eros, Arwen, and Hinata are also sending you tons of whisker kisses. We are all here for you and want to help comfort you during this very emotional and sad time. I totally understand how the mere thought of the aroma of roasted chicken on Sundays breaks your heart; it was one of your very special rituals with your little sweetheart. HUGE hugs. Serendipity, its too quiet without my dazzling boy, so used to hearing him making a noise in his house when he was doing his housework and hitting his whimzee of his flowerpot. Not forgetting him wrestling with his hanging treat bars. We both had a routine.

BorisPasha, the EHO and Master Harvey's ham-friends really was very special and I know that whenever I listen to Qween, The Killers or David Bowie I will have a tear in my eye along with a huge smile.
Thank goodness for this forum, being able to talk about it and the support from you guys has been felt and appreciated.

dreamtree, you always seem to know what to say, there was a moment before I did this thread that my mind went totally blank and I couldn't remember what I was going to say about Master Harvey, I felt so stupid. I ended up writing it down.

I cleaned out his cage which was very emotional, there's a few things that I'm keeping for his memory box - his red polkadot tin, his ceramic flowerpot and his lollipop stick toy. He really loved those.
I managed to look through some pics and I'll post some of my favourites later.

Thin Lizzy, please don't ever feel stupid for being overwhelmed with emotions that you forget the words and feelings that you want to express for a loved one that had passed. I believe that all of us have gone through that; I definitely know that I have multiple time. It is a result of being overcome with intense grief and totally, emotionally drained. Your memorial tribute was absolutely beautiful and extremely heartfelt, and I am totally sure that Master Harvey is looking down at you right now from the Bridge being so proud and grateful that you made such a loving and touching memorial thread for him. Your infinite and unconditional love for him flowed so eloquently through all that you said both here and on his original thread and with all of the precious moments of him that you shared with all of us. Your amazing bond and love that you had for one another was so evident in all that you said, all that you both did, and all of the beautiful pictures. You are absolutely amazing in every way, and MH was truly lucky to have you just as you were totally lucky to have him. HUGE hugs and tons of love to you, Thin Lizzy.

I know how painful it is to clean out his cage and hear absolute silence in your loving home that once was filled with the wonderful sounds of pitter pattering, tiny paws and the distinct clanging of favorite toys. Although it is gut wrenching right now, time has a magical way to help to heal your broken heart. You are not alone; we are all here for you and totally understand what you are going through right now. We are your friends, and we want to always be there for you anytime you need us. Take comfort in knowing that Master Harvey had the greatest life ever and he is now surrounded and cared for by many loved ones at the Bridge. Love and hugs to you, Thin Lizzy. I am in shock and saddened by the news that I can’t quite believe what I am reading. Master Harvey was a very special hamster who thread I always enjoyed reading as he had a big cheeky personality which always made me smile and laugh reading about how he would demand extra breakfasts and his hamtrums! I also enjoyed reading about him hamnastics, marathon training plus his very special bond that you both shared which he spoilt you with so many wonderful whisker kisses so thank you for sharing this all with us. It was a shame he was a little camera shy as he was such a handsome hamster with such magnificent ears but you have some very special photos to treasure of your amazing boy. Harvey has lived to such an impressive age - 2 years and 5 month - spoilt and loved every single day, he was such a lucky hamster to have you as his owner.

It so difficult making the decision to say goodbye, so my condolences go out to you during this very difficult time. Routine are very hard to adjust to again as everything you do reminds you of them so can completely understand why you decided not to have roast chicken.

I too felt overwhelmed with emotions that I forgot what I wanted to say about Pumpkin in her memorial thread so don’t feel bad about this as my mind to went blank looking at my computer screen through my tears - that I also had to write things down before. So don’t ever feel bad for this as I think we all/most experience this as well are lost without our little ones.

It's just been over a week and it's been very emotional. Today after shopping and waiting for a taxi, I heard this voice shout 'taxi for the hamster woman, the driver always asks how my hammy is and I told him about Master Harvey and he was very sympathetic, being called the hamster woman did make me smile.

I always enjoyed reading Harvey's thread as he had a massive amount of character, I'm going to miss him and everyone else here at HC will miss him too.
