Goodbye June

I got my first hamster June in September 2016 and she passed away this past June 22nd. Today would have been her 2nd birthday so it's been a hard day. I never knew how extremely attached I would become to her and how big her role in my life would be. She was the most amazing first hamster (or hamster at all) that I could have asked for. Everyone in my life thought I was crazy for dedicating so much time and money to a little hamster but I just couldn't help it- she was one of the best things to ever happen to me.
Because of June I think I will always have to have hamsters now- I have just fallen completely in love with everything about them! I know it might seem a little soon but I recently brought a new hamster home to help with the pain of losing June, along with the fact that I hated not owning a hamster because of how much joy she brought to my life (and those around me who knew her).
I miss June more than anything but I am so grateful to her for giving me something that I will have forever: an infinite love for hamsters. With that I will continue to own hamsters and give them the best life possible while savoring every moment I have with them.

Such sad news about your beautiful girl June. Your love and care for her is truly felt and she'll be forever missed and loved.
Take comfort in your new ham, who'll help you with your grief. You'll have your good days and bad days, I would find myself thinking about a passed ham and the tears would flow. Here at the forum we all know what you're going through, I've found the support here truly wonderful.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss of your beloved June. She was absolutely beautiful and such a very special heart-ham. I'm so sorry that you didn't have more time with her and she wasn't able to celebrate her 2nd birthday with you, but it sounds like the two of you had made such amazing memories together during her wonderful life with you. I'm sure that knowing she had the greatest life possible and having your precious new ham in your life will help you through such a sad and emotional time. June will be looking down at you lovingly and happily from the bridge that she instilled a true love of hamsters in your life and be so thrilled that you now are giving another ham all the love and care that this new little one so truly deserves. I'm glad that you have found a new fluff ball to help you through the grieving process and fill your life with happiness once again. My heart goes out to you during this time and I am sending you huge hugs. Please know that we all understand what you are going through, and we are all here for you.

I’m so very sorry to hear about your loss. She was gorgeous and precious. She sounds like a very special and fluffy friend and I’m sure you to had a very strong bond. June seemed to be a huge part of your life and I understand how hard it is to lose your everything. I’m very happy for you that you’ve found a new little fluff ball to help you with the hole in your heart and to bring you happy memories. I’m sending huge hugs and little kisses from my ham Libby.
