I wish I had rushed you to the vet the first time I saw red mites on your fur.

I didn't think they'd kill you. I thought that it's just something hamsters get and once we'd rubbed them off you and cleaned your cage you'd be okay.

Your end did not look peaceful and it torments me.

I didn't ever want an animal to suffer because of me. I hope you're life was more happy than it was bad... but I wonder.

I am TRULY sorry for all that you have gone through and for the heartbreaking loss of Tiquito. You are definitely in my thoughts and my heart goes out to you. You loved him and gave him a wonderful home; I'm sure he knew just how much he was cared for. Hugs to you both.

I am so sorry. Please don't blame yourself. You loved your hamster very much and we all learn about these things when they happen. You tried your best and had a bad batch of bedding. Our little hammies are with us for such a short time in our lives (although they grow old quickly) and sadly they succumb to some illness or other usually, before they die. Tiquito is playing free over the Rainbow Bridge, pain free now. The end can be hard whatever the cause. I had to have our Syrian put to sleep last year. It is an act of kindness- but it is traumatic.
