Aww, Crumble peeking out from behind the cage bars with her tiny paws grasping on the side of the cage base was just so precious and sweet. It looked like he wanted to come out for a nice playtime with you. What a loving picture!

Turrican, don't feel there is a deadline to meet on ending grief. You deserve and are entitled to let yourself honestly feel and express all that is in your heart. It is understandable that you will always have those up and down moments where those feelings come rushing back and you feel the longing for those you love who have passed. Love is the greatest feeling ever, and it can give you the most joy as well as the most sadness. You loved Crumble full-heartedly, and it takes time to heal. With each passing day, your feelings will slowly begin to feel less raw but it is a slow and drawn out process. Even years later, you will have those flooding emotions of happiness and sorrow coming back during an important anniversary of your ham, seeing a special toy, or reminiscing a memory. We at HC totally understand your emotions and what you are going through. Sadly, our hammies never live as long as we would want, but they live full and happy lives with the time they are given. We are always here for you to comfort you in your grief so feel free to share your memories and pictures of Crumble whenever you feel up to it. We are all friends who care for one another and each other's pets. Take each day one at a time and don't rush yourself. Take care and huge hugs to you, Turrican. xxx

Dreamtree, thank you for taking the time to write to.me and for the hugs! I'm sure Crumbs will be pleased to know that mum is being well looked after by the kind folk at Hamalam Central! I've still got her things, just can't bring myself to get rid of them yet! I guess it would feel too final even though she's been gone a while now and I have Kenny in my life now as well. If only our hamsters could live for longer! But what joy they bring during their relatively short lives. X

Turrican, so true what dreamtree said about still having those emotions and feelings years later I got so upset last month with Archie's 2nd anniversary, so sobbed my heart out, I found comfort hugging my Archie cushion and here on the forum. Having a cushion done has helped me.
We all have an unconditional love for our hammies, and even when they go to the bridge they're forever in our hearts xxx

We are always here for you, Turrican. Don't feel the urgent need to discard any of Crumbs's things until you feel you are emotionally ready to do so. You may even want to consider keeping some of them if they are able to be sanitized for other hamsters to use in the future or for you to create a very special keepsake box of precious things that remind you of your darling Crumble. I found that it can help to know that items loved by one so dear found a loving place with another precious ham. I also love the idea of Thin Lizzy's cushion with a picture of her beloved ham who had passed on to the Rainbow Bridge on it. This way, whenever you are feeling sadness and need that extra comfort, you can hold the pillow close and give it a nice hug. Another lovely way to honor one who has passed is to create a nice garden or have a memorial stone so you can always have a tangible place to go and feel even closer to your sweet Crumble. I find it helps me to heal if I create a diary of poems for my lost loved ones. Just know that no matter what you decide to do in order to help you deal with your loss, your cherished memories and the love that you keep in the center of your heart for him will always be there. It will give you comfort and strength to know that he will forever live on in you. As I said before, we are ALWAYS here for you and want to help however we can. Best wishes and hugs. Take care of yourself and please give your charming Kenny a nice cuddle for us. xxx

Aw Lizzy the cushion idea is brilliant. What a great way to feel close to your Archie still.
Dreamtree I may recycle some of her old things one day, in fact Kenny is now using her old wheel! He loves it and runs on it loads which makes me so happy as it makes me feel like she's looking down on us from the bridge and is ok with my having a new furry pal! He is so much grumpier than Crumble was though, lol, she needs to send him some happy vibes from hammy heaven!

Aww, how lovely that Kenny is running a marathon on Crumble's wheel; I know it must touch your heart and make you feel so happy that it is so well loved again. I'm sure that Crumble is happily looking down at the two of you and totally approves.

Bless little Kenny ensuring that not only he gets plenty fun and exercise from Crumble's wheel but that you get enjoyment watching him.
Crumble will be happy knowing her wheel is being used for marathons.

Been thinking about you tonight, Crumble. Miss you, my girl! I found some videos of you on my phone and watched you running about in your younger days. Kenny is already twice the size you were even when you were fully grown, you were so teensy! Just want you to know you haven't been forgotten. I've been busy with kenny who is so so different to you but you're always in my thoughts and I still wish I could just have one last cuddle with you! I hope you're going crazy sniffing and zooming at the Rainbow Bridge my darling. Love you x
