Adventurous Asiatica
Some of you may remember me posting in my April photomonth thread about Asia who had pushed open her cage door just a fraction (the bulldog clip was still on, though moved to one side) and squeezed her way out on 30th April.
I heard her scrabbling around my bedroom one night, and found occasional signs of her around my flat. She, however, evaded my searches under and behind furniture and all the bucket traps I set up in each room baited with wet cat food. I searched the hamster room and pulled out craft things, spare cages and carriers, and lifted furniture bases with no joy. I'd looked in all the cages with people in and nothing.
This week was week two and I was losing hope that she'd still be in my flat. I spoke to my neighbours and no signs of her from them. I started the searches again, this time taking everything out of furniture before moving it. I spent my Monday afternoon off work unloading all of the books from my 5 Billy bookcases before moving them to look behind.
Today I decided to pull out everything in the hamster room this time to double check as I suspected she may be in there somewhere. I started in the far corner, somewhere I've searched several times before, but this time I found her. Sadly she had died.
Asia was one of my Valjest litter, daughter of Valegra and Majestic. She was the sweetest of the litter and had a nice shaped head. I was due to pair her with her mate for the first time when I discovered her missing. She was inquisitive and active, and ultimately these traits led her on her adventure. I hope she had a fun time in her scampering around free range and I hope that her end, although very untimely, wasn't painful.
Run free, my sweet golden girl xxx

Re: Adventurous Asiatica
Oh no vectis I'm so sorry
I was wondering how the hunt for Asia had gone, but I am so sorry to hear that it ultimately ended on a rather sad note. Take pride in the fact that you gave her an amazing home, and kept on looking for her even when the chances were slim. You provided her with an excellent life, and that's something she'll never forget! May she Rest In Peace
