A tribute to Jarvis.
Jarvis - 10th March 2015-22nd March 2017.
What a joy it has been to know you sweet boy. I was there when your Mum fell in love with you as I was doing the same with Mocho. You both came home together before you made your way to live with your Mum and Dad and the little rescue Loki.
For nearly 2 years Jarvis has been a wonderful friend. He would play with his Mum and then fall asleep on his Dad. A companion with such character. He developed such little quirks, as they all do, with how he liked things in his cage or how he wanted to get around it. At first when he came here for hamsitting, he would hide away even though young and energetic. But with each visit he became more used to being here. He came out earlier in the evenings than Mocho so I could give him full attention at feeding time. By the time of his recent visit he came onto my hand or climbed out of the cage to play even though he knew he was not at home. How trusting he had become.
What happened, we don't know. From being full of life he was gone in about 3 days. Gently and peacefully in his nest.
Thank you Jarvis for being with us for so long. Now that you have crossed the rainbow bridge you can run and play with Loki and find Dusty and Hoshi who went before you. You are laid to rest with them under the Rose bush. One day there will be a permanent spot together for you all.
Run free Jarvis but pause occasionally and look back across the bridge to those that love you and who will never ever forget you.
Rest in peace little one xx

Re: A tribute to Jarvis.
I couldn't believe it when I was reading it.... He sounded so active, social and full of live when you were talking about him in his last hamsitting visit... It's sad when they leave us without notice, but at least that way you know that he didn't suffer and that he had a beautiful and painless life til the end. And you have a lot of happy memories with him
I'm very sorry for your lost. Rest in peace Jarvis.

Re: A tribute to Jarvis.
Thank you all so much for your kind words of comfort. This forum is a wonderful place for advice and support when needed. The potted Rose bush will be carefully tended until my daughter has her own home and her hamily can go with her permanently.
I am thinking of getting a memorial slate with their 4 names on for her.
Meantime I am treasuring every day that I have with Mocho.
