We did buy him a soft dog toy from Tesco last Thursday (13th) which he snuggles up to. He has chewed her ear slightly, but I think that is frustration from being on his own.

The problem with me fostering is I know I'd get far too attached and it would quickly turn to adopting. My mum doesn't want me to get another piggie. I did find a very close rescue though.

It might feel like you're replacing Toffee, but really what you'd be doing is potentially giving other piggies a chance at a better life even if it isn't for long as well as providing for one of Oreo's needs.
If you're worried about Oreo passing and then another piggy being alone, this is why I'd say try and go for multiple piggies instead of just one as this prevents the risk of one pig passing and then the other being left alone.

I don't think I would be able to keep guinea pigs in the near future as I have plans for my future which may not work with keeping guinea pigs, much as I love them. I don't think I am allowed to foster guinea pigs as I know it will end with adopting them, and I don't know if I could go through that cycle. I also don't have the space for multiple piggies, only a pair.

Oreo has lived inside for the last couple of years, since after Toffee was diagnosed with pneumonia, I thought it would be the easiest way to monitor him and his health. Oreo's cage is in the lounge, but we don't spend masses of time in there. It is a warm room and I can leave the TV on for him, for some noise. He seems to like Friends on Comedy Central.
