It is with the greatest sadness I am posting this. My daughter's beloved Hime passed over to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. She was a lively girl who was always up for an adventure. Almost tame from the start, she climbed up the arm of her little girl the first day home. Her sweet friendly nature amazed everyone that met her.

Hime loved destroying boxes (first hamster I'd every seen do so) and rearranging her cage. It wasn't unusual to find the rock from under her water bottle moved half way across her cage. While she loved her treats, exploring always came first. She had the perfect personality and I couldn't have found a better fit for my daughter's first hammy.

Good-bye sweet Hime! Your girl loves and misses you, and so do I. Your kindness, curiosity, bravery, stubbornness and fighting spirit have had an effect on the whole family. We hope you found countless wheels and snacks waiting for you at the Bridge. Play well and enjoy your adventures.

So sorry to hear this sad news about your daughters little Hime Kelza, a special ham indeed who has left some wonderful memories to cherish & will I'm sure live on in all your hearts.

So sorry for your loss. Hime was beautuful and her character and personality shone.

Thank you both. She was one of the most extraordinary hamsters I've had or known.

My daughter surprised me today saying she definitely wants another hamster, but wants to wait till closer to her birthday (in a couple months) before deciding when to bring one home. I'm very proud of how she is handling this, and I think it helps that Hime was laid to rest in the backyard so she can visit often. Also the loss of Edith earlier this month allowed us to start the conversation, so she was more understanding when Hime passed.

Hime was beautiful! It can be hard loosing a pet, especially if you are a child. Hope you're little girl is ok
