Default Re: Pymypuff...

Hello Pygmypuff. Sometimes, especially when serious illness strikes us, other things take a back seat because your focus is all on getting better and having life get back to normal. It's really important for you to look at all the good things in Pygmypuff's life. That year was filled with love and care. In a hamster's life that time was equal to decades in our lives. Clearly she was loved.

It serves no purpose, other than making you feel worse, to keep picking at this and blaming yourself. Accidents happen and cats will always be cats. I have 3 outdoor cats who come in every so often to hang around for a bit and then they want to go out again. A couple of weeks ago I was sitting in the living-room and spotted movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked up and it was Tim E. Bear, sitting there calmly washing himself. He took off when I got up but I caught up to him in the kitchen and he let me pick him up. I found out a tube had popped off in his setup and I made sure that was fixed. Tim E. could have been in real trouble if the cats had been in the house. These things can happen to anyone.

Grieve for Pygmypuff. Her life meant something to you. But recognize that you gave her love and care and shared her with other hammy folk who enjoyed her too. And don't forget that you have other hammies who need that same love and care. The hurt goes away, but the memories never do. {hugs}
