Sleep well Lunar
Today I'm saying goodbye to Lunar. He reached two years of age so he had a grand life, but he's become nothing more than skin and bones. So much of his weight is gone, like Tank I tried to do everything to get him to put any weight on.
I've made the decision to take him in today to have him put to sleep, its not fair on him to keep him looking as he is. I can't bare to keep seeing him looking like a furred skeleton, I've sucked it up and going to brave any judging I might get at the vet.
Goodbye Lunar I'm sorry I truly am, forgive me.

Re: Sleep well Lunar
I'm so sorry to hear this sad news, I know Lunar had his problems but he's had a lovely life with you & reached a good age.
He's always been such a handsome man, it is heartbreaking to see them losing weight & condition with age & not be able to do more for them but you have done everything for him that you can & are as always putting his needs first, you have nothing to be sorry for, it is such a hard decision to make for them but it's one that comes from love & Lunar has always had plenty of that.
Better to let him go now, peacefully & without suffering than to wait too long.
Run free & play well at the bridge little Lunar.

Re: Sleep well Lunar
Thank you Cypher, he is gone now to the rainbow bridge. Lucky for me the vet wasn't judgmental at all, she said hamsters his age usually die from something. He was just wasting away, and said I made the right choice for him.

Re: Sleep well Lunar
So sorry to hear about Lunar. He was a grand little chap, and as you say, he was wasting away - it was a kind decision. Play well over the rainbow bridge little boy.

Re: Sleep well Lunar
This was such a hard decision, but a very wise and good one for the sake of Lunar and his quality of life. I'm sure he is very thankful to have an owner with such a big heart to even allow that heart to be broken so he didn't have to just exist doing nothing but breathing in and out. Rest well Lunar and play nice at rainbow bridge.
Hugs to you BluerayDarkes while this was hard for you the hole left by little lunar will soon be filled with one sent to you by Lunar's love and thanks for being so brave and letting him be at peace.

Re: Sleep well Lunar
Thank you Nancy. He really had gotten far too thin, nothing I was doing helped at all. Lunar was the first pet me and my partner got together, he's been buried by the rose bushes.
