RIp Winter
RIP Winter.
She died in my hands this evening and its upset me a lot more than I thought it would tbh. I don't really know what happened, saw her having a dig in her cage earlier on, then checked on her a few hours later to find her feeling all floppy and mostly unresponsive, but still breathing and moving about a little. Put her on a warm water bottle and wrapped he in a towel, but she passed away a few minutes ago Its come as a shock really, as she was the youngest of my hamsters by about 6 months, only had her since November.
She could be a grumpy little madam whilst in her cage, but once she was out, she was just incredibly friendly. It was fascinating watching her change colours over the space of a few months.

Re: RIp Winter
I remember you getting Winter and I can't believe I'm reading her memorial. So sorry for your loss, so glad you were with her at her end, this will have been a comfort to her.
Such a beautiful girl and loved seeing her coat change colours.
Thinking of you and sending you big hugs xxx

Re: RIp Winter
I'm so sorry for your loss Snowe Hamster, it's always so hard to lose any ham but when it's sudden & unexpected like this it is especially hard, I really feel for you & hope you're ok.
Winter was a lovely little ham & I'm sure her time with you was full of happiness & love even though it was so sadly short, try to take comfort knowing that her passing was quick with no lengthy suffering & I'm sure she was glad to have you with her there at the end.
Run free & play well at the bridge little Winter.

Re: RIp Winter
I'm so sorry to hear this SH, Winter was so young. She had a sweet, loving personality and we were all fascinated by her gradual coat changes. It's incredibly difficult when you lose a ham, especially one that young, but try to remember the good times you've had with Winter and think positive xxx
Run free and play well at the bridge Winter xxx
