R.I.P Gracie!

Unfortunately last Wednesday Gracie was put to sleep at the vets, she hadn't been right for a few days before this. At this first I put it down to old age; unsteady on her feet, sleeping, more and loosing weight. But the night before she went to the vets she had gotten a lot worse. The day she went to the vets I couldn't go due to work, I expected the vets to put her on antibiotics and send her on her way home but it turned out she had a very large tumour and it couldn't be treated. I didn't properly get to say bye to Gracie, but I'm happy knowing I gave her a good life the year she was with me. Gracie had a spinal deformity due to her previous owners giving her a tinny wheel, despite this she a lovely gentle little girl. She was very greedy and always loved a cuddle. I still walk in my room now expecting to see her bum sticking out of her food bowl.

I'm so sorry to hear about Gracie, I remember when you got her, she'd had such a bad start in life but must have been so happy to have been given a second chance with you.
It is sad that you didn't get to say good bye properly but she knew how much you cared for her & you did the kindest thing for your lovely girl.

Aw, I'm sorry about little Gracie. She landed on her feet having you adopt her and I'm glad she had a good life span and knew love and good care. It's horrible not to be able to say goodbye, hold on to all those happy memories. Hugs from me and the boys x
