Yesterday we found Darcy peacfully asleep in her little pink cottage house she lay their peaceful. The reasons for Darcy's passing were unknown and she was 8-10 months old on average. She had a wonderful few months with me as I adopted her from my auntie, my auntie kept her in a 20cm cage with a bowl full of stuff a diabetic ham shouldn't have like corn ect. she had no toys but only a wheel that was about 5inch's
I rescued her from my auntie, I put her on a diabetic ham friendly diet and gave her a mini-duna filled with toys (I was planning on getting her a bigger cage) and I gave her love.
I remember when she came home...she had met me before that so I was able to handle her. She was not timid or shy, she was a bundle of energy and fun...I popped her in the mini duna and she spent 10 mineutes just examining every toy and the lovely food and veg, she loved it...it warmed my heart...she was always cooped up in tiny cages before I rescued her...she was the cutest hamster alive...nevermind the cutest hybrid! She was white and fluffy...always had the warm feeling when you held her, I miss her so much :'(
I was about to get her out for playtime as I noticed she wasn't at the side of the cage waiting like normal. I opened up her house and called her name...I stroked her then I realised she had gone. There was no chance of reviving her she was not warm and she had passed away... my parents would not let me see her body and they wrapped her up in a fleece blanket, placed her in a little box and we are burrying her today.
When I felt her body, I froze it was unreal I wasn't expecting her to go, I don't know what to do I can't stop crying I will never see her again :'(
I think she died of diabetes I adopted her when she was about 5 months and before that she was fed on corn and peas and she showed the symptoms of diabetes.
I miss her so much, I can't stop crying.
R.I.P Darcy I will never forget you have fun and eat all the mealworms you want at Rainbow bridge 6/8/13 xxx
