I'm so sorry I have missed this thread RH,

One thing is for sure he was loved very much & for him to trust you when he was near the end wanting you to pick him up just shows how much love he had for you too.

Rocky,

You was a very much loved & well looked after little ham man. I know you loved your Mummy so much too. You play well at the bridge now & send a sign when you can to your mummy so she knows you are safe & happy as I know you are

Big hugs RH I have a lump in my throat for you

That sums him up Silver and the feelings I am having at the moment, so thank you so much. I was out tidying up around his grave earlier as their was a break in the rain and my mother bought me a small meerkat garden ornament with a little ladybird windmill attached this morning while she was in town, so I have sat it on his grave where he rests beside Boris my Syrian and my sweet little Chinese female Prinny. At least I know where they are now and can sit by them with a cup of tea remembering our fun times together. x

That is really lovely & Very thoughtful of your Mum RH

I agree it is lovely sitting near where they are buried & spend some time with them in a way. I also have mine buried in the garden all together with a little plaque on the wall for each one as they are buried along a wall.

Lots of lovely memories

It`s a funny thing too when we bring them into our lives, we never even think about them leaving us in a way that`s always too soon and when it happens, it feels dreadful. I don`t mind so much when they pass on from old age and just slow down and gradually sleep away. But the unfairness of it all is when they don`t get to reach their milestone of two years and leave us in such a way that we feel almost helpless to do anything to keep them well anymore. It`s that frustration feel as I`m sure many of us do at times like this.

It`s really lovely though to be part of a community who know what that feels like and can sympathise. Thanks Silver. x

I was hoping so much Rocky would pull through his illness RH, but the bridge needed him back it seems. He'll be healthy and happy there now till it's time for you to meet again. Play well lovely little man xx

Thanks Poms. If there is any consolation in this life, it`s because we can continue to give needy hamsters a second chance and that`s what matters. x

I'm sorry I've only just seen this, I've not been on here for some time. I'm very sorry you've lost Rocky RH. I hope you do get yourself another little one soon to take some of the pain away. Rocky will send one along to you when the time is right, he can't be with you anymore but when another little hamster needs a good home, he'll know just where it will get one. RIP little Rocky, play well and run freexx
