Peggy lived in my local Pet Shop she had two litters in her time there. I picked out a little girl Pixie from her second litter back in May last year. A few months later when I had just lost Horace, Dave asked me if I would like Peggy as he didn't want to breed again from her as he thought 2 litters was enough. I agreed!
So little Peggy came home with me on August 3rd. Within days I was madly in love with her. She was always so friendly. We formed a close bond. I loved the fact that as soon as her food hit her bowl every evening she'd come dashing out. She loved her food. Brocolli & pumpkin seeds were her favourites.
So we jump forward to 3 weeks ago when I noticed she had a little hard lump on her tummy. I knew instantly it wasn't good as the lumps Huxley & Hugo had had were soft. The vet diagnosed cancer. I decided to take her home & enjoy as much time with her as possible. On Sunday she didn't come out for her brocolli & I knew something wasn't right. Within 48 hours she had passed. I am so thankful she didn't suffer, right up until those last two days she was her usual self.
I'll miss the cheeky little chubster as she was at time. But I have lots of happy memories & great pictures & videos of her. She was always a good little poser
She was a very pretty girl! I love how she held so still for you and the camera, not a common thing with dwarf hammies. Take comfort that part of her will be with you in her baby, Pixie.
Sleep tight little Peggy. You were very loved.
Thanks everyone. I have her son Herbie too. Such comfort to have him & Pixie. Herbie didn't come to me until October as Dave was planning on keeping him until he decided to stop breeding altogether.
