I was feeling really low when I made the original post, I still feel really crappy about it. However nothing can change what has happened, and I'll get nowhere by dwelling on it.
I'm sorry for your loss, rest in peace Pouches...

I understand the impulse to beat yourself up about this, I'm lucky enough never to have injured one of my animals, but on a recent holiday my carelessness damaged a speedboat motor, which cost me and 3 family members a lot of money. I was really annoyed with myself, and it soured the last two days of the holiday for me, even though they all told me not to worry about it.

I find that the best way I can deal with things like this is to allow myself to be angry for a couple of days, maybe deny myself any treats. Then I take that anger out on the punchbags at my weekly boxing class, and try and let it all go. It's what works for me!

So please allow yourself to feel whatever you need to deal with what happened, and then remember what a good life you gave Pouches, and the good times you had together

You will absolutely not be ostracised here, and I'm glad you felt you could be open about what happened. Anyone can tell how upset you are, and that there wasn't an ounce of intention in this tragic accident. I am so sorry this happened.
When I had my first robo The Cloud, he snuck up on me and bit me hard on the toe when I thought he was still asleep on the sofa. It was such a shock that I jumped and he went flying backwards onto the sofa cushions. As he had a soft landing he was perfectly fine, but it was the same situation, and I did feel terrible.
Keep your babies close, give them lots of love, and give yourself time to heal from the accident. Pouches will be fine at the bridge with all our dearly missed little ones. Play well little lady xx
