LOL, I moved Hamchan's cage into the bedroom, right next to me where there is a radiator pipe (so he would be warm) and also so I could check on him every few hours. They are really like our babies.

As awful as this my sound its really helped having tig though, because even though my baby is not with me I have tig to play with and love so I have something or someone else I need to concentrate on x

I don't think it sounds bad. When we lose a dear pet, there's a hole, and having another pet gives us someone to love and give attention to. It doesn't ever really replace the bond that we had with the first, but it gives us distraction and something to smile at and over time, we also become attached.

That is very true, I loved Freds in a completely different way to the others, each one has a different kind of love

If I didn't have Patches, I would have really felt badly for far longer when Coco died. Sadly, poor Puff, passed from old age about 3 weeks earlier than Coco and I was able to deal with that much better than Coco. Coco was the hammie I was really close to. So having another hammie to care for absolutely does help because you have to pay attention to the living hammy and you can't just fold in on yourself and grieve. Not bad at all!

So sorry you lost freddie but it seems to me he had a long and happy life and was a very cute old man.
Dont listen to people if they say you got another hammy to soon I felt very guilty getting Lola only 3 weeks after loosing tinkerbell but I soon relised it was just what I needed and everytime I see he nose peeking through the cage my heart melts. I still sometimes call her Tink by mistake and I nearly cry but I think that will always happen.
We buried Tink in the back garden we have lived there 2 years and was our first animal to be buried I have now told my OH I will never move as our pet cemetry has started it sounds so silly but all my family are the same my mams garden has all her cats in and my grandma's is the same with cats and dogs we want to feel they are still with us so getting friddie cremated was lovely.
Have fun at the bridge little man xx
