R.I.P. Caylee bug.... the last of my little girls
My little Caylee,
I knew you were ready to see your sisters again almost since Carley had to cross the bridge. You were so lonely. Last night, Mommy knew that it may be the last time I ever got to play with my girl. You were running more quickly than usual and you weren't dragging your belly like you always do. Nobody else would have known something was wrong, but Mommy knew. I was so sad putting you back in your house last night. I hoped so much my instincts weren't right, and I was so happy to hear you running on your wheel when I woke up in the morning! I am so glad I got to pet your little head and give you 2 seeds and tell you I love you. When you didn't come out to play tonight , peeking your little bedhead out of your igloo after you heard me, I knew something was wrong....... I saw my little furry girl under her slide. I was so sad. Yet, I am happy also. You are finally with your family. I hope you all are playing and quarrelling on the bridge right now like old times. I am so happy that my little girls can all be together. All you had your whole lives was each other, and you have all been through a lot before you came to me and being a "foster ham" and after you guys came to me and all the illnesses that you suffered through no fault of your own. It wasn't your fault that your first human parents were not smart about breeding you. You were the best hamsthat I could ever imagine being a Mommy of. I wish you could have been mine forever. Rescuing my 5 furries from the shelter was one of the happiest and proudest moments of my life. You girls made Mommy so happy. I hope you are playing with your sisters and of course your grandma Gemma. Give them all kisses and squishes from Mommy and maybe even a few seeds and cucumbers. I love you Caylee. I will never forget you.
Forever and always,
Your Mommy

Re: R.I.P. Caylee bug.... the last of my little girls
Sigh. Your memorial to Caylee and her sisters had me in tears. I am so very sorry you lost her. I know this is going to be very hard for you to deal with. All I can say is that these little hammys were so lucky to have been rescued by you. There are many people out there who cannot understand loving a rodent. But they have their own special characteristics and habits and attitudes. They make us laugh and they scare us to pieces when something happens to them. They become a part of our lives and our families. And when they leave us, they leave behind an empty space, a silence and a pain that all of us who love hamsters and other rodents well understand...because we all have been there or will be there some day. My sympathy for your loss.

THank you very much for your kind words. It's always nice coming back to HC and finding people who I can relate to. I miss her so much but am finding comfort knowing she is finally where she belongs- with her family and not lonely here with me. It wasn't fair to her after living with them her whole life.

Gosh... this one broke me down into tears... I sincerely hope that you can remember all those precious moments you had with her... It's amazing how, when we are in contact with ourselves, we can sense what is going on with our little babies... I'm happy for you that you had the time to stop and to really enjoy those last moments when you felt the end was coming... I believe your babies will be helping you from the Bridge, grateful of everything you have provided them... You truely loved all of them and it shows in your writing... Hoping you do heal quickly...
Join your family at the Bridge, little girl... Blow a kiss to your mommy when you are ready to show her you guys are ok...
Annie xx

Big huge hugs Gemmasmom, so sorry you have lost the last of your girls!
Your memorial was beautiful, a tribute to the feisty Robo characters... Little in size but like all hammies they wiggle their way into our hearts and leave bear sized footprints..
