Goodbye at last my lovely Violet

My little Violet passed over just a few hours ago. She had been failing for a while, slowing right down, she ate a little cooked warm carrot yesterday while I held her. A tip for anyone with a hammy who needs handfeeding at the end, I found that Vi really enjoyed a teaspoon of warm sloppy weetabix it really perked her up.
I snuggled her in a warm piece of wool knitting last night as i felt her end was near.
Had had a horrid day as I was due to go to the dentists yesterday and someone crashed into my car as I was on the way so had to cancel and sort out insurance etc with damaged car. Then this happened, I am too sad to post pics just now but she is my avatar here, so sweet, and never once bit me. The man in the shop who sold her to me said she was a one off as so friendly. She was in Just for pets 2 years ago I had seen her before xmas and I made a contact somehow, after xmas she was still there- and in the sale- as she was getting older and bigger, needless to say, she came home with me. My last Hammy was about 50 years ago, I am not a kid, am 62 ha ha it may be silly but these things still affect me in the same way, dont know if I can replace her as it is all so raw just now, and can i go through another loss again? There will be another little burial tomorrow. Sleep well dear Violet and thanks for being my best little buddy while it lasted. xxxxxx never forget you, you've left a huge imprint on my heart.

I plan to have hamsters right up to your age and well beyond! Violet looks adorable, and what a sweet natured little girl she was. I can tell you gave her so much love, and she was cared for beautifully. Play well little lady xx

Thankyou everyone for your kind words, it does help, its two weeks now, i have cleaned and put her cages away, but find I am still looking at the place where they were and expecting to see her little ears poking up, or the place she liked to sit listening and watching me.
