This just came up on my Facebook feed: Hamster Foster and Rescue UK

They’re trying to find the owner in Torquay area the hamster was found running around a beer garden. Now obviously if it has an owner it would be great for it to get back to them I’m not saying steal the hammie! But maybe you should reach out to them and say you have a full setup, if the owner is not found you can care for them or hold until the owner is found.

I just thought since you’re in that area it may be of interest to you.
That's horrible! I hope he finds his family/new family quickly

I haven’t seen anyone saying they’ve found the owner, but there is plenty of well educated hamster owners on there offering a home if the owners aren’t found. So either way I’m sure they will be well loved wherever they end up now.

I think some escape but some people do put them out in the wild if they can’t care for them, I saw another post the other day of a Syrian found hiding in a mattress for warmth. It’s horrible that it happens but at least some are found and given richer lives at the end.

Love your gorgeous new hammie by the way!
