Default Seeking Maryland Hammies

I've never bought from a breeder before because I prefer to rescue all my animals. But if a time comes when I'm looking for another hammie and there aren't any to rescue, I don't think I want to get one from a pet store again because I'm concerned about their long-term health.

Pearl Hamletry in Rockville no longer breeds and the next closest option seems to be Zika Hamstery in Virginia. Does anyone know of any other breeders in Maryland?

There's a beautiful, sweet Syrian tortoiseshell available to rescue but someone already put in an application for her. She's just over a year old.

I'd really like to have one like her. I'm also interested in perhaps breeding just one litter of hammies myself to see what colors will happen, but the info I've seen around here seems to suggest I should breed hammies from another breeder rather than breed hammies from a pet store.
