Breeders in the midlands?
I'm tentatively putting some feelers out for breeders in the Midlands. I'm not looking to take one home tomorrow, rather, I know waiting lists can be long and so I'd like to know who's about.
I don't drive, so anyone within an hour, by bus or train, of either Nottingham or Birmingham would be ideal (or someone willing to meet, etc. I'm willing to travel up to 2hrs to view; my main concern is not stressing the ham out with a huge journey!)
I think I'm looking to get one around Sept/Oct, so please let me know as if I'm going to buy rather than adopt, then I want to buy from someone who knows what they're doing.

Re: Breeders in the midlands?
The secretary of the Hamster clubs (try the Midland Hamster Club) will usually have an up to date list but here's a couple off the top of my head...
Hamster Mischief
Duncton Hamsters
Both are located in the West Midlands.

Re: Breeders in the midlands?
There's a hamster show near Coventry at the end of the month, plus the Christmas show is in Birmingham. Camelot and Dragonfly Hams are in Nottingham, and Lilliput is in Warwickshire.

Re: Breeders in the midlands?
Thank you very much guys I'm tracking them down! I didn't think of contacting the secretary, I gave up when I realised there were no ads on the MHC site, thanks again!

Re: Breeders in the midlands?
Gah... looking at the show dates, the ones easier to get to from Birmingham are when I'm in Nottingham, and vice versa, or they're at times when it would be a bit turbulent for the ham to come home (christmas, start of term, etc.) Think I'll probably end up adopting unless Dragonfly have a miraculously timed litter!
