He'd actually be fine on the train. Quite a few people go to shows by train. You could make sure you travel at a quiet time and take a blanket to cover his cage

Id think a train would be better as they are smoother and travel in straight lines ... compared to a car !

mighty hard to carry a travel cage, cage, and 6 weeks worth of food and treats on the train by myself. my neighbour will feed and water him for me. he just wont be out to play for the 6 weeks.

Unfortunately I'm in Essex so no use either. I'm surprised there's nobody closer than SS. Must be a bit of a hamster wasteland up there I hope something comes up for you xx
