Default Diablo and me! Help?

Hello world,
I used to have hamsters when I was younger (12)
But I have recently began my new hamster journey
At 37 years old. The hamster community has changed
Since then and so I'm looking for a little bit of advice.
I bought my male hamster, Diablo, last week in a standard small (well they sold it as xl) cage but today
I finally set up a 100cmx50cmx50cm glass enclosure
For him. I moved him in today, with bedding and with his
Orginal hoard and he seemed fine and excited.
After a sleep in his new house, he has been active and
Foraged for food which he has stored away. However
He has been biting at his new wooden house and
Also the corners of his glass cage. He hasn't really
Done alot on his wheel (but it is clear plastic...has he not
Realised what it is?) But is really active burrowing and
Gnawing on things. It's just the corners of the cage
Where the glass meets is striking me as a problem.
I know it takes time to settle in, but as an anxious person
I just need someone to reassure me that this is normal
And I just need him to settle in!

Thank you!
Sophia

Hello and welcome,

It's great you upgraded so quickly! All that change in a short time is enough to make anyone anxious and it sounds like Diablo is just exploring everything.

I wouldn't worry too much about test chewing or finding the wheel. Give yourselves time to settle and bond x
