Can hamsters have guava wood branches?
I’m a very cheap person but I want to give my hamster a natural enclosure ,so I have been trying to find some wood , since I found out Mango wood is toxic to countless of animals, I refuse to give my hamster branches from my mango tree , so I thought that I can get wood from the guava tree out back instead because according to some sources most fruit trees are safe for hamsters and I’m wondering if this includes guava wood?

Re: Can hamsters have guava wood branches?
I don't think it is safe. I can't find specific information for guava wood, but it's in the myrtle family and myrtle wood is toxic.

Re: Can hamsters have guava wood branches?
If you do find a suitable wood, please remember to either freeze or bake it to kill any bugs that may be living in the wood.
I envy you for living in a part of the world with mango and guava trees in the garden....
