Default Hello.... We need help

I have 2 hamsters one we got from a family member the other is a rescue. Boomer is our black banded boy we got from family. Pebbles is our rescue girl and it was suggested she is a sable roan? Maybe? Maybe not? Could some one help me with her color? [IMAGE][/IMAGE]

My other huge concern is my husband was trying to help and he cleaned their bins for me .... He knows nothing about hamsters and he put them together " it was only like 15 minutes...." While he cleaned their separate bins and im very afraid we will end up with very much unplanned babies ... The 15 minute accident happened on 2/26 .... When will i be able to tell if we are in trouble and going to have babies. Ive read that some genes are issues to breed this is why i had absolutely no intention or interest in breeding.... We are still researching and learning the basics and now we have this ... What should i watch for

Hi! I'm nowhere near an expert on this type of thing, but I believe that if she was pregnant, she would have given birth by now, and if she's shown no signs of pregnancy, then you're probably safe. Don't take my advice as a full yes or no, please wait for other member's opinions . She might be sable roan banded, again, not my area of expertise. Hope this can help!

If it happened on the 26th, then you would be looking at 14th to 16th March for babies to appear, you may notice her looking a bit more swollen a few days before, but I am not an expert.

Someone else maybe able to advise re genetics.

As Luna said you would normally see a swollen belly also look out for more nest making than usual, a pregnant female will prepare a large dark nest to hide the pups away in.
Not sure how soon you see the obvious signs but it might be a while yet before you can tell.

Nibbles you were exactly right ... A breeder from canada said exactly as you did shes a sable roan banded sh.

She doesn't seem any different in behavior or plumpness so im keeping fingers crossed we wont be having babies 14-16 lol the male ahe was exposed to was a black banded hoping we wont have any malformed babes if she is
