We don't know what breed she is (help?) nor how old she (he?) is. We adopted her almost a year ago - last March when everything shut down. It was our rotation to care for her that week as part of the class pet duties. With the good graces and well wishes of our child's teacher, we kept her. She's had such a dramatic transformation in the time we've had her. I recently renovated a hutch I found and made her a huge living space. I never knew they liked sand - thanks to this forum, I made sure it was a part of her new castle - and she took to it like she'd been missing it her whole life. Filled my heart with such joy to be able to give her a better life than the teeny cage she came to us in! HamsterCentral - meet Brownie!

Re: Brownie
She is a lovely hamster and it does look like you have a female from what you can see in the pictures. She is a Syrian hamster (species) and her colour looks to be a Golden. She sounds like a real character!
Brownie is adorable. The pictures of her in her home and overlooking the Christmas tree are beautiful. Did you make the cute little chair on the top level?
