Default Relocated Hamster

Hi guys, my girlfriend and I just received a hamster from my sisters friend and we are having a hard time figuring out what species the hamster is. He acts like a syrian but is too small for a 2 month old. He's twice as big as a Robo dwarf. We need to figure out what species he is so we can get a new home for him (tank or bin cage). I would post a picture but as I am new to this I have no clue how to. He is lightish gray with a soft black stripe down his back, red eyes, and white belly. He has ears like a syrian and his tail sticks out kind of like a syrian as well. His previous owners say he is 2 months old but we are not sure. He is very aware of is surrounding as well.

Hi there - it sounds like you have a Russian hybrid hamster. He must have some Argente Campbells in him if he has red eyes. The dorsal stripe is typical of russian dwarf hamsters. You can attach pics when you make a post but you have to be in the advanced mode and attach via the manage attachments section.
