Wow that is amazing. So glad she is happier. She clearly needed the extra space. IMHO I would now add a lot more enrichment to fill it up and give her plenty to do. Large cork tunnels are good - interesting texture to climb over and a big dark tunnel to run through. Different levels of substrate etc - lots to do and places to go. I'd also still go for a large house that is dark inside. The one in there looks ok but I'd pile substrate over the window and put a bendy bridge over the door.So it's dark inside.

And she looks so cheeky and adorable!

Edit - just noticed you still have the lief labyrinth house as well. If you're going to keep that then I would knock out the centre panel inside to make an area that's larger for a syrian.

This is a brilliant labyrinth house, but a bit expensive. I've used it for our last 3 syrians. And you can buy the legs/stilts to stand it on as well. Which means it sits on top of the substrate securely (without sinking and squashing them if they try and tunnel underneath).

Every hamster has nested in the front left larger compartment (it is darker as round a corner) and used the middle back compartment as a toilet - which is where I put the litter tray. Except for one syrian who used the right hand small back comparment as a toilet and landed in it every time he came down through the hole on top! They have all loved it and built large cosy nests and hoarded under the nests and in the little back compartment on the left. The right hand side is more of a "run" to the top entrance hole. No need for a bendy bridge over the door as it already has a double entrance door. The flat roof makes it a good platform as well.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, Serendipity. Now I can add a lot more stuff! I'll definitely buy a cork tunnel and a Rodipet underground system, that one that you can put near the glass and see the hamster underground. The bigger house (light brown) let's in too much light, I'll follow that advice, I think it will look nice to have a bendy bridge near the door
I'm very excited about the possibilities, I know I'll be browsing hamster supplies for a while now!

Thank you : ) the cage actually really scared her the first night. Based o the advice I got here, I am adjusting it so there are many hideouts and toys, so she feels protected. I will also have her getting used to the cage as playpen for the following two weeks. Some hamsters are just never happy

I put it there to fill up the space, I'm unsure about what to do with it, knocking out the centre panel sounds like a good idea, I'll probably do that before buying another one, seeing how I feel about it. That labyrinth house is great :O
Rodipet really has very good stuff. Thanks for linking that!
